There are 41 places in total at Koh I Noor Nursing Home of which:

- Twenty seven (27) are single rooms with shared ensuites.

Each floor has the following number of single rooms with shared ensuites:

- First floor – ten (10) rooms

- Second floor – six (6) rooms

- Third floor  - six (6) rooms

- Fourth floor – five (5) rooms

- The rooms are connected through the ensuite only.

- Each person shares the ensuite with one other person.

- One room on the fourth floor shares their ensuite with two other residents (in a double room).

Note: Residents require staff assistance to access their ensuite due to their level of disability.

The residents’ rooms are light, warm & welcoming with modern fresh furnishings & high ceilings. Each room has a window overlooking mostly garden areas or the street front.

The Home is set in a quiet suburban street of Wembley. The home has four levels; the ground floor is the first floor. It has the look and feel of a large domestic house rather than a facility. There is a car park to the side of the home with a wheelchair friendly drop off area.

 

The Home is well-lit with natural and electric lighting, air conditioned with wide carpeted hallways displaying a wide range of art work, wide enough for two wheelchairs to pass simultaneously.

 

There are 12 indoor and outdoor areas with seating that residents can sit with their family and friends lounge areas. There are two large lounge areas on the ground (1st) floor with televisions and music.

There are two large grassed areas at the front and rear of the home that are secluded and these areas can be used for small family functions; there is a BBQ in the front garden.

 

There is one large dining room on the ground (1st floor) beside the kitchen where all the meals are prepared daily.

 

There is a large fish tank in the Men’s lounge on the ground floor and a resident’s vegie patch in amongst the landscaped front garden.

 

There is a dedicated Hair Salon.

 

There are communal disabled toilets for residents and visitors on the ground floor.

There are two large communal bathrooms for residents who use a shower trolley for their ablutions.

 

The home has a lift to move between the levels; ground floor is the first floor.

There are shared or double rooms on the following levels:

- Second floor – two (2) rooms; four (4) places

- Third floor  - two (2) rooms; four (4) places

- Fourth floor – two (2) rooms; four (4) places

- The shared bathrooms are large and have separate bathroom cupboards for each resident.

- Each resident shares the communal bathroom with three other residents.

- There is also a disability toilet opposite the communal bathroom on the second and fourth floors.

- Each person shares the ensuite with one other person.

- The two residents share an esuite bathroom with the resident next door, in a single room, via the ensuite.

- The double room is on the fourth floor.
